Administering Exchange Mailboxes and Groups

 Administering Exchange Mailboxes and Groups

1.     For your initial AD synchronization, when must you contact the Office 365 support team?
Answer: Answers will vary. If your AD has fewer than 20,000 objects, you do not have to contact the Office 365 support team at all. If you have 20,000 or more objects, you must contact the Office 365 support team prior to your initial AD sync.

2.     How often must you run the Email Migration Wizard?
Answer: Answers will vary. If you are not migrating email, you can simply provision your mailboxes in the cloud without running the wizard. If you plan to support full migration of mailbox content, you should run the wizard exactly once during your migration phase.

3.     How many security groups need to be used within Office 365?
Answer: Answers will vary. Sixteen groups are automatically created by the DirSync tool. However, your organization will likely need dozens or hundreds more, dictated by your business needs.

4.     How often should your organization use Role Assignment?
Answer: Answers will vary. If you only want a single administrator to use PowerShell cmdlets, then you'll never need to use Role Assignment. However, if you want to grant members of a group specific permissions to use certain PowerShell cmdlets, then you'll use Role Assignment each time you elect a delegated administrator.
